During the lockdown in 2020, consumers were looking to take a more active role in their financial future and financial influencers were on the rise. However, there was still no dedicated platform for people to share and consume content specifically around finances.

Emerging at the intersection of fintech, crypto, and the creator economy, TTV saw a massive opportunity for entertaining and educational financial content — for everything from stocks to crypto to NFTs and rare sneakers. To help the company launch successfully and stand out in such a crowded landscape, Outcast worked closely with TTV founder and CEO Tobias Heaslip to define their positioning, develop their brand narrative and messaging, and secure media coverage.

Our media approach was precisely targeted, leveraging our relationships to get in front of the right technology and creator economy reporters. We also quickly adjusted our strategy to trendjack recent news about TikTok’s new regulations on crypto content and creators. Working closely with Heaslip, we developed a stronger counter to what TikTok was doing and with it seized additional media interest.

Our team also leveraged our media relationships to introduce Heaslip to a top editor at Fast Company, resulting in a speaking spot at the Fast Company Innovation Festival in 2021. Following the platform’s beta launch, we left TTV with a momentum plan incorporating speaking events to attend, media to get to know, and ongoing podcasts/columns to pitch as they prepared for their Series A and eventual public platform availability.
